Who We Serve
Adults Diagnosed with Serious Mental Illnesses
Alliance Behavioral Care is a Behavioral Health Residential Facility (BHRF) provider licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). We have 11 facilities (110 beds) throughout the Valley, where we provide 24-hour direct support services to adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illnesses.
We are equipped to address our clients’ primary mental health needs, as well as any co-occurring substance use issues or physical health needs that require Personal Care services. All of our facilities are licensed to provide both behavioral health residential treatment and Personal Care services.
Alliance Behavioral Care partners with all doctoral psychology programs in Arizona, as well as Master of Counseling and Master of Social Work programs. Through these partnerships, all individual and group therapy sessions are provided by graduate-level clinicians in training rather than direct care staff members. All clinical services are guided and supervised by one of the four licensed clinicians on staff. Alliance provides a much higher level of clinical sophistication while also relieving our direct care staff of clinical responsibilities, allowing them to spend more time assisting clients with their day-to-day goals.

Personal Care
All facilities hold Personal Care licenses so that members can remain in the community rather than face premature hospitalization.

Discharge planning begins at admission, and all clients are on a step-down path toward a lower level of care or independent living setting.
Daily Life
Programming that Builds Skills
All facilities have a monthly Activities Calendar that is posted in the common areas. All programming activities are intended to engage our clients and address the areas that create barriers to independence. Separate from individual and group therapy, our programming includes:
- Groups and classes that support sobriety and recovery from substances
- Transportation to and from community groups that support sobriety and recovery from substances
- Community outings and social integration activities
- Groups and classes on activities of daily living (cooking classes, laundry, budgeting, etc.)
- Community partner activities (Baseball games, church events, etc.)
- Group exercise activities
- If approved by the client’s insurance company, vocational rehabilitation and job skills training
Why It Matters
Recovery-Focused, Not Forever Housing
Alliance doesn’t have an intended length of stay for any of our clients, but everyone doesn’t make progress at the same rate. We intentionally go above and beyond to provide safe and comfortable amenities, but all clients are expected to work on reclaiming some level of independence. We work to tailor a step-down path for each client that gives them the best chance to avoid unnecessary hospitalizations, psychiatric decompensation, or substance use.
We will work with your clinical team, insurance company, and anyone else involved in your treatment to ensure that everything you need to be successful is available to you when you need it.
